The Stark family from South Florida, celebrated daughter Avery’s Bat Mitzvah with a week-long celebration in New York City. The service was held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Renaissance New York Times Square. The family moved to Florida from Long Island recently and since Avery is a musical-theater performer and loves Broadway musicals, they decided to head to New York City to celebrate.
During the week, Avery had her Bat Mitzvah service, enjoyed a week of seeing Broadway shows including her favorite, Aladdin, and a camp sleep-over at the hotel. From the invitations to the party decor, and even the sleepover, they had an “Aladdin and Avery On Broadway” theme.
Pictured above: Sister Hailey, Mom Dana, Bat Mitzvah girl Avery, Dad Robert and Sister Sydney.

Mitzvah Project
Avery volunteered at a children’s theater in Florida. She spent countless hours making sure that the little kids learned their lines, had costumes and make-up ready to go. During the performances, she helped them backstage and helped them remember their curtain cues. She will still continue with this volunteer work.
Mom Advice from Mom Dana
“My best advice to a planning mom is to know what your child wants and make their Bat or Bar Mitzvah is special for their likes and interests. Since we moved away from New York to Florida when my daughter was 11, I knew that I couldn’t have the traditional event for her like I had for my 16 year old twins. I used her passion for performing and created a special night for her. My next piece of advice if you are having a destination affair is to hire an event planner. Having her on board made the whole process stress free since I wasn’t in New York to do anything in person. Through technology I was able to see and make decisions with her on all aspects of the night.”

Sweet Gifts by Star started when new mom Jennifer Star wanted to do something unique for the centerpieces at her daughter’s baby naming. She couldn’t find anything that made her say “wow” and decided she would make them herself. She ended up making candy centerpieces and candles for each table and a new business was born.
She creates custom centerpieces, retro candy baskets, party favors and candles for Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations.
Jennifer also creates a basket called, Random Acts of Sweetness. She donates a special basket once a month to a child suffering from a debilitating illness and will take special character requests for the child to make it special for them.
As Jennifer would say: Life Is A Treat So Make It Sweet!
Centerpieces and candles can be customized with letters or symbols
Candy centerpieces make any table look festive!
Bejeweled candle votives can be used for a Bar Bat Mitzvah candle lighting ceremony
Each month Star sends a Sweet Gift by Star basket to a child that has been fighting an illness to try and make their day a little sweeter!

In this an election year, it’s no surprise we stumbled upon a Bar Mitzvah with a political theme!
Sara Rene Events in South Florida planned a patriotic Bar Mitzvah for a boy with political aspirations.
Temple Dor Dorim in Weston, Florida, was the venue and the photographer was Ricardo Serpa of Ricardo Serpa Photography/Lux Images.
As you will see from the pictures, “We hold this truth to be self-evident”…this party is amazing!
As guests arrived at Temple Dor Dorim, they were greeting by servers in full political attire with cocktails
The sign-in board for this celebration was a paper that read, “We the People,” inspired by the U.S. Constitution
Presidential Pez dispensers, attached to place cards, showed guests where they were seated
Each table had alternating red and blue decor
A very presidential looking dance floor and DJ booth
Flags and campaign memorabilia graced the bar along with screens featuring a loop of Stephen Colbert’s political show, “The Colbert Report“
The “scale” centerpieces held flowers and were wrapped in the party date
The politically-correct lounge area was a big hit!
Cocktail napkins read: Jack can’t tell a lie. You have a little something on your face.
United States of America flag knee socks for the girls
Patriotic ice cream sundaes crossed both party lines enjoyed by Republican, Democrats and Independents!
A duffle bag favor with a great saying ended the night!
For Jack’s entrance video, Ray Roman films produced a take-off on the Matthew McConaughey Lincoln car commercial-
A MUST WATCH!
We thank Sara Renee Events for sharing this amazing Bar Mitzvah with Mitzvah Market.
