A Bat Mitzvah Celebration On Broadway

A Bat Mitzvah Celebration On Broadway

The Stark family from South Florida, celebrated daughter Avery’s Bat Mitzvah with a week-long celebration in New York City. The service was held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Renaissance New York Times Square. The family moved to Florida from Long Island recently and since Avery is a musical-theater performer and loves Broadway musicals, they decided to head to New York City to celebrate.

During the week, Avery had her Bat Mitzvah service, enjoyed a week of seeing Broadway shows including her favorite, Aladdin, and a camp sleep-over at the hotel. From the invitations to the party decor, and even the sleepover, they had an “Aladdin and Avery On Broadway” theme.

Mitzvah Sleep-Over

The night ended with an amazing sleep-over for Avery and her camp friends at the hotel. The suite was complete with a custom candy bar, pizza, custom PJ’s and sweatshirts favors.

 Mitzvah Project

Avery volunteered at a children’s theater in Florida. She spent countless hours making sure that the little kids learned their lines, had costumes and make-up ready to go. During the performances, she helped them backstage and helped them remember their curtain cues. She will still continue with this volunteer work.

Mom Advice from Mom Dana

“My best advice to a planning mom is to know what your child wants and make their Bat or Bar Mitzvah is special for their likes and interests. Since we moved away from New York to Florida when my daughter was 11, I knew that I couldn’t have the traditional event for her like I had for my 16 year old twins. I used her passion for performing and created a special night for her. My next piece of advice if you are having a destination affair is to hire an event planner. Having her on board made the whole process stress free since I wasn’t in New York to do anything in person. Through technology I was able to see and make decisions with her on all aspects of the night.”
