A Swimming Themed Bar Mitzvah Celebration

The Lichtenthal family of Millwood, New York, celebrated son Jonah’s Bar Mitzvah on September 12, 2015. Both the ceremony and reception were held at The Doubletree Tarrytown in Tarrytown, New York, and it was an intimate celebration of close family and friends. 

The theme was swimming as Jonah is a competitive swimmer. Mom Stephanie a graphic artist, designed an amazing logo that captured the theme.

Invitation and Logo

Both the invitation and logo below were designed by Mom Stephanie whose company, Party Logo Design creates logos for special events.

The invitation blended Jonah's love of swimming with the religious ceremony

The logo also captures the swimming theme incorporating Jonah's name and Bar Mitzvah date

Temple Service

Rabbi Allison Berlinger performed the ceremony and compiled the custom prayer books for guests.

Food and Cake

The cake was baked and designed by Lulu Cake Boutique and the luncheon was catered by Rene Leon Catering.

The luncheon included wonderful touches such as mini quiches and shots of tomato soup garnished with grilled cheese squares

Mitzvah Project

Jonah’s Mitzvah project was participating in Swim Across America. Swim Across America is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming related events. Jonah swam 3 miles and raised over a thousand dollars to help fight cancer.
