Who better to find the latest and greatest for all-things Bar Bat Mitzvahs than our own Mitzvah Moms?
When Jennifer Federmann was planning her daughter Maya’s Bat Mitzvah, a friend showed her a decorated Horah chair which gave her an idea. After finding other examples online and on Pinterest, she decided to not only use the chair as her daughter’s sign-in, but also for the Horah!
She bought the chair at Ikea for $49.00 and then her babysitter Erica, who is very artistic, used paint pens to decorate the chair. She included the name, date and musical notes.

Guests signed-in using silver and black sharpies and the invitation was glued to the center of the chair

The chair now sits in Maya’s room.

Mom To Mom Advice From Caroline
“With each Bar Mitzvah, I focused more and more on just having the essential things that would make my son happy. This last Bar Mitzvah, while I spent the least amount of time in planning, I was able to pull it all together and then really soak in the evening. It was amazing to see my three boys together and how proud my two older sons were of their younger brother. It was a great reminder of how blessed my husband and I are to have such a wonderful family and friends to share it all with.”

Galaxy Productions, the originators of the WOW Factor, produce everything from spectacular corporate to elegant social events. Mixing entertainment with decor is their legacy. From concept to design, they create masterpieces all over the world.
We want to thank Chad Everett of Galaxy Productions, based in South Florida, for this creative “wow factor” candle lighting idea for a Bar Mitzvah celebration. The theme was electronics and the candle lighting ceremony was a “show stopper!”
Galaxy Productions designed a display with custom supports to hold 13 iPads. Each iPad had three images stored.
The first was the Star of David
The second was an unlit candle
Guests were called up to light the candle and then simply swiped their finger across the iPad to get the third image of a candle with a flickering flame!

SPACE is a revolutionary and renowned Bar Bat Mitzvah venue that offers a unique experience catering to guests of all ages.
For over a decade, SPACE has provided a solution to alleviate all of the stress and anxiety associated with planning a Bar Bat Mitzvah celebration. Everything from the venue, the menu, the decor, and the staff is in-house offering a private event space that is conducive for both children and adults. They offer high-tech entertainment, the largest video game selection, a laser tag arena, and exclusive paint-less paintball and bowling alley combining entertainment for all ages with the elegance of a country club, and the ambiance of a nightclub.
SOMETHING NEW: Your Child’s Grand Bar or Bat Mitzvah Entrance!
SPACE was in search of a unique and innovative way to introduce the guest of honor at a Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration – and they found it! They created a custom Lyra, (an aerial hoop suspended from the ceiling), with a built-in bench and a harness for safety. It works using a mechanical lift to bring your child high up in the air, about 22′, and then slowly, manually lower them to make a grand entrance!
To be sure the grand entrance is kept under wraps, the staff at SPACE will cover the Lyra with a white cloth so guests don’t see it when they enter the main room. When it’s time to introduce the guest of honor, they drop the cloth to the ground and expose the Lyra!
For fun and a bit of drama, confetti cannons explode and the guest of honor shoots off a CO2 gun. It’s safe and sensational!
Take a look at these grand entrances on the Lyra:
