The Event of a Lifetime, Inc. recently planned a Bat Mitzvah for a girl who just received her black belt in karate.
Party planner Melisa Imberman incorporated the Bat Mitzvah girl’s love of karate with a great logo, a chic pink and silver color palette and the perfect tag line: Kick Ass Party.
The celebration was held at 404NYC an event space in New York City. Ron Holtz Photography was the photographer.
Here are some of the fun details:

Small Fry Press created the beautiful pink and silver invitation suite

The perfect tagline and logo for this karate kid

Maddy in her pretty pink gown standing in front of a logo’d wall

The multi-level event space is stark white so it was a great canvas to feature Maddy’s pink and silver color scheme

Custom logo’d pillows looked great on the pink couch

Custom cocktail napkins were another great detail

The sign-in canvas (right) now hangs in Maddy’s bedroom along with the glitter gift box (left)

Maddy makes her grand entrance into her celebration

The Gobo on the dance floor

Maddy and her friends enjoyed a game of Coke & Pepsi

The food from Encore was also beautifully displayed

Cute signage to hold a table for the “Baby Boomers and Older”

The candy buffet in pink and silver party colors

The gift bags were displayed under the logo

Hats, sweatpants and t-shirts with the logo were a great way to end the night
We thank Melisa Imberman, The Event of a Lifetime, Inc. for sharing this amazing Bat Mitzvah with our readers.

The Forman family of Port Washington, New York, celebrated their daughter Charlotte’s Bat Mitzvah on September 26, 2015, at the Community Synagogue in Port Washington, New York. Later that evening, a reception was held at Haute Durvo, an event venue in Roslyn, New York.
A tennis player, Charlotte’s theme was CHARapova, inspired by tennis great, Maria Sharapova. The day and night were filled with friends, family and most of all, fun! Charlotte is one of Mitzvah Market’s teen bloggers, so we are especially excited to share her special day with our readers.
Pictured L-R: Mom Jen, Bat Mitzvah girl Charlotte, Dad Eric and Brother Dylan.
The vendor information is listed at the end of the spotlight.

The family worked with Alexis Siegel of Invite Me on the beautiful truquoise invitation.

Charlotte’s mom Jen Forman owns Charlotte’s Closet, a party dress rental company named after her fashionable daughter. You can borrow designer clothes from this online destination, so Charlotte rocked three great looks, one for the service and two for the party!

This pretty white dress is from French Connection

Short and sassy by Blush for the first hour

Followed by this beautiful aqua colored sweetheart ballgown by Tiffany designs

The family looked stylish

The location was Haute Durvo and they pulled out all of the stops when it came to room decor and design. The layout was the perfect combination of party, lounge and traditional seating.

Charlotte also made sure she added some original decor touches. Check out these custom pillows that incorporate her logo with her most favorite nickname.

Custom pillow

“C” these great pinnies that were given out on the dance floor

Even the food presentation was unique: these are custom “C” serving pieces. The caterer, Delicacies Gourmet, created the trays specifically for Charlotte.

When it came to the entertainment, Charlotte and her guests danced the night away with the help of a great DJ and an appearance of their family’s favorite band, Plunge, from Long Beach, New York. They brought guests to their feet!

DJ Scott of Sheehy Entertainment kept guests dancing

Singer Matt Wahl from the band, Plunge, had the house rockin’

Sami Cakes Boutique created a beautiful, (and delicious!), turquoise and silver tennis themed cake.

The tennis racket cake topper, with CHARapova along the rim, was a nice touch

The candle lighting was beautiful with glass cylinders with silver accents and floating candles.

Charlotte surrounded by her friends for her candle lighting

After partying the night away, guests enjoyed CHARbucks coffee, hot chocolate and coffee cakes, as Charlotte loves Starbucks! Notice the custom coffee cake sleeves the caterer provided!

Neil Aronin of TJ Promotions created the sweatshirt favors.

Black sweatpants with Charlotte’s logo

Charlotte focused her Mitzvah Project on animal rescue. She will donate even more time this year to volunteer with her Aunt Jill at Ruff House Rescue to care for dogs in need.

Some advice from Mom Jen:
“Take notes! I suggest writing down a list of those things you’ll need and want (you’ll forget everything the day of the party!): for example, write down your must-have photo shots as it tends to get quite hectic just before party starts and you might end up forgetting to take a picture with the entire family! Take a deep breath and keep telling yourself to enjoy the party!”

If that wasn’t enough to satisfy late night cravings, as guests stepped outside they were pleasantly greeted by a food truck serving Forman family favorites such as grilled cheese and chicken tacos from Odies Gourmet Grill!

Who better to find the latest and greatest for all-things Bar Bat Mitzvahs than our own Mitzvah Moms?
When the Malamud family from Plainview, New York, planned their son Zach’s Bar Mitzvah celebration, they wanted to include their two older children.
Hi Tech Photography and Events had a creative idea. Dressing his siblings to match the basketball themed Bar Mitzvah, a clever poster was created.

Great poster and creative idea to include pictures of Zach’s older brother Brett and sister Jenna into the party

Rachel is an animal lover so she dedicated her Bat Mitzvah Project to saving the lives of shelter cats who are most at risk of being euthanized.
The funds she raised were for the Shelter Run Program of the Golden Paw Society, located in Huntington Station, New York. The Golden Paw Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing cats who have been in municipal shelters for an extended period of time and is committed to finding forever homes for them.
Rachel was among four honorees recognized for her fundraising efforts. She was presented with a plaque for her contribution to the Golden Paw Society at its annual “Golden Gala” fundraising event.
Rachel shared the details of this great Mitzvah Project with Mitzvah Market:
MM: Can you give us details about your Mitzvah Project?
RH: My goal was to raise $1800 to save the lives of 18 cats through the shelter run program of the Golden Paw Society. Why 18? In Judaism the number 18 represents the symbol of Chai. Chai means life. I beat my goal and raised over $2,400 for the Shelter Run Fund to date, allowing 24 cats to be rescued.
MM: Why did you decide to take on this particular project?
RH: A “shelter run” is when volunteers visit the municipal town shelters and rescue cats that have been there for an extended time or who are having trouble adjusting to shelter life. It costs about $100 to pay for medical/food/care expenses for an animal to be rescued. I worked with the Golden Paw Society to create a page on their website so that funds could be channeled to this cause.
MM: In your own words, what does it mean to you to do a Mitzvah Project for your Bat Mitzvah?
RH: He who saves a single life, saves the entire world. This is a quote from the Talmud, the book of Jewish law. While I am not necessarily sure that this was written to include animals, I can’t say for sure that it excluded them either. As an animal lover, the most horrifying thought is for a cat to be euthanized or left in a cage alone and scared for too long because someone thinks it is un-adoptable. Many of these cats, if they had the chance, would make good companions. They need time, love and the chance to get out of a cage. I am hoping to help some of those cats with this project.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to Rachel’s project can visit her web page on Golden Paw Society’s website. Her page contains photos of some of the cats whose lives were saved thanks to Rachel’s Mitzvah Project. For more information on The Golden Paw Society visit their Website or contact the organization at goldenpawsociety@gmail.com.
We thank Rachel for sharing her Mitzvah Project with Mitzvah Market.
