A Tennis Themed Bat Mitzvah Celebration

A Tennis Themed Bat Mitzvah Celebration

The Forman family of Port Washington, New York, celebrated their daughter Charlotte’s Bat Mitzvah on September 26, 2015, at the Community Synagogue in Port Washington, New York. Later that evening, a reception was held at Haute Durvo, an event venue in Roslyn, New York.

A tennis player, Charlotte’s theme was CHARapova, inspired by tennis great, Maria Sharapova. The day and night were filled with friends, family and most of all, fun! Charlotte is one of Mitzvah Market’s teen bloggers, so we are especially excited to share her special day with our readers.

Charlotte’s mom Jen Forman owns Charlotte’s Closet, a party dress rental company named after her fashionable daughter. You can borrow designer clothes from this online destination, so Charlotte rocked three great looks, one for the service and two for the party!

The location was Haute Durvo and they pulled out all of the stops when it came to room decor and design. The layout was the perfect combination of party, lounge and traditional seating.

Charlotte also made sure she added some original decor touches. Check out these custom pillows that incorporate her logo with her most favorite nickname.

Even the food presentation was unique: these are custom “C” serving pieces. The caterer, Delicacies Gourmet, created the trays specifically for Charlotte.

When it came to the entertainment, Charlotte and her guests danced the night away with the help of a great DJ and an appearance of their family’s favorite band, Plunge, from Long Beach, New York. They brought guests to their feet!

Charlotte focused her Mitzvah Project on animal rescue. She will donate even more time this year to volunteer with her Aunt Jill at Ruff House Rescue to care for dogs in need.

Some advice from Mom Jen:
“Take notes! I suggest writing down a list of those things you’ll need and want (you’ll forget everything the day of the party!): for example, write down your must-have photo shots as it tends to get quite hectic just before party starts and you might end up forgetting to take a picture with the entire family! Take a deep breath and keep telling yourself to enjoy the party!”

v2stamp_exit

If that wasn’t enough to satisfy late night cravings, as guests stepped outside they were pleasantly greeted by a food truck serving Forman family favorites such as grilled cheese and chicken tacos from Odies Gourmet Grill!
