New York City “Madison” Avenue Themed Bat Mitzvah

The Jamnik family celebrated daughter Madison’s Bat Mitzvah service at Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston, NJ, which was followed by a celebration in her honor at the W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ. The theme centered around “Madi Takes Manhattan” with the ballroom and dance floor divided into an “Uptown” section for the adults and a “Downtown” section for Madison and her friends.

Bat Mitzvah Decor

The decor was done by Mindi Harrison Shaevitz, owner of Flower Power Designs.  

The "Wow" in the room was this amazing dance floor that was divided into two sections

The kids' lounge was filled with customized graffiti furniture

There were also graffiti cubbies for teens to hold their "stuff". The cubbies added to the decor

For the adults, it was sleek and modern. The acrylic communal tables and chairs made quite a statement. The white flower centerpieces incorporated just a bit of bling

Mitzvah Fun

The kids’ cocktail hour was loaded with activities, including a virtual roller coaster, a street sign making shop, and an airbrush station where Madison’s friends created trucker hats and cell phone cases. The adult cocktail hour took place at Lulu’s, a club within the W Hotel.

Bat Mitzvah Special Touches

Music and DJ Entertainment

The Matt O'Ree Band entertained the adults with some acoustic Rock 'n' Roll during their cocktail hour

Bat Mitzvah Food and Dessert

There were incredible food stations including: Chop'd, Red Rooster, Shake Shack, Dos Caminos, and Fig & Olive

And it doesn't get better than this crazy milkshake creation from Black Tap NYC

Mitzvah Exit Treats

As guests left, they grabbed delicious cupcakes and water from the "Baked by Madison" station which was set up to mimic the real thing!

There were Baked By Melissa Cupcakes for guests to take home at the end of the evening

And...a food truck from Shine Events had White Castle hamburgers, pizza, cookies and candy galore

Madison’s Mitzvah Project

Madison spent three months volunteering at an after school daycare program in East Orange, New Jersey run by the National Council of Jewish Women. Madison read with the children, participated in arts and crafts projects, and played games  – teaching her an invaluable life lesson.

“Organize, organize, organize!!! Attention to detail is a must. I created a binder which I named my “Mitzvah Manual” with tabs/sections for each vendor and my budget. Your team is critical and you have to make sure that all your vendors are introduced to each other and in constant communication. I assembled a “DREAM TEAM” and could not have asked for a better crew. Be prepared to go over budget…that is the best advice I can give!”
