Reasons to Volunteer
Kids v Cancer’s bar/bat mitzvah program will give students an opportunity to engage in pediatric cancer advocacy and support families of children with cancer. Bar/bat mitzvah students will develop a greater knowledge and understanding of the pediatric cancer community and the isolation many children with cancer feel. Ultimately they will gain personal satisfaction of making a difference in their community. Leadership, compassion and motivation will be fostered and encouraged.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
*Social media campaign - Create posts and strategies on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts to promote awareness about pediatric cancer.
*Fundraising events – Host bake sales, hat days, create a product to sell, host an art salon or music event.
*Make care packages for kids with cancer who are at NYU Langone Medical Center
*Adopt a family in need whose child has cancer.
*Visit NYU Langone Medical Center and learn about pediatric cancer
