A “Zack Airways” Themed Bar Mitzvah in Florida

The Feirstein family celebrated son Zachary’s Bar Mitzvah with the service at Temple Beth Emet in Cooper City, Florida, and the reception at Temple Solel in Hollywood, Florida.

Zack’s theme was Zack Airways as he has loved airplanes and travel since he was a small child.

84 West Studios was the photographer and the rest of the vendor information is listed at the end of the spotlight.

 Mitzvah Invitation & Service

For their invitation, the family worked with Eric at Petite Acorn using a modern design in a royal blue and neon green color palette. The Saturday morning service was followed by a kiddush lunch at Temple Beth Emet.

Mitzvah Details

The theme was Zack Airways to celebrate his love of travel and airplanes. The Feirstein family had a strong vision and collaborated with 84 West Studios to create a fun and cohesive look. The room had a lounge vibe, but also recreated an “airport experience.”

Music & Entertainment

The Jammin’ Express dancers with MC Wes provided non-stop fun on the dance floor.

Mitzvah Favor

For the adults, there were custom chocolate covered Oreos from Danielle Ockman of Favor It Things. The kids received blankets from It’s a Wrap.

Mitzvah Project

Zachary’s Mitzvah Project supported Jewish Adoption and Foster Care (JAFCO). He did a back to school supplies drive to collect new school supplies and backpacks over the summer to be able to fulfill JAFCO’s needs for one of their wish lists. He collected supplies and money and was able to purchase over $500 worth of school supplies.

Mom to Mom

Some advice from Mom Melissa:
“Early planning and setting a realistic budget is my advice. My son’s Bar Mitzvah was 2 years in the making. The first thing we did was create a spreadsheet of all of the things we had wanted and the cost. That helped us decide the wants versus the needs and what we could afford to do. I had a binder that held all of my contracts, ideas, deposits, etc. to help me stay organized. This also helped me to not feel the financial pressure because I knew what my budget was. However, plan to go over it by a little, it always happens. 2. Relax and enjoy the moment. The day of the event, you will be bursting with pride for all that your child has accomplished. Enjoy the moment and your special day. Things may not always be perfect, but chances are no one will notice except you.”
