SCT is a charitable nonprofit that keeps gently used plastic toys out of landfills by donating them to children in need. It takes plastic toys about 456 years to biodegrade in our landfills. No need for them to sit there for centuries when they can bring smiles to so many deserving children that do not have toys.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to collect gently used plastic toys from families and friends in the community and/or from your Hebrew school, and prepare them for donation.
We will provide you with all of the resources you need to make your community service program a success including posters to announce your collection. Then we will match you with an organization in your area that needs toys for the children they serve.
Our collections occur twice a year: during April for Earth Month and November/December for the holidays.
