By the end of 2015, Pencils of Promise will support 50,000 primary school age children living in
communities with high need for investment in education in Laos, Guatemala and Ghana. PoP will
work toward closing the gap in progression, literacy and numeracy between low-achieving and
high-achieving primary schools by building 500 schools, training 1,000 teachers, distributing
10,000 scholarships and providing health education to 10,000 students. Over the next three
years, PoP will work to identify key levers in increasing educational outcomes through
demonstrated, scalable impact.
