The Briarcliff Manor was built in 1902. Originally built to host grand celebrations, this retirement home has seen many incarnations over the years. The Manor was a working farm and provided the local area farmers with water from a cistern still located on the grounds. The Manor is rumored to have served as a speakeasy during prohibition. In the 1940’s the owner of the Holland Classic Circus lived on the grounds with both animal and human circus workers. The 60’s gave way to Maison Laffit a French restaurant which survived until the turn of the century. The most noted bit of history is that The Briarcliff Manor was the inspiration for the Tara Estate depicted in the film Gone with the Wind. You get to take a unique step back into film history when you enter The Briarcliff Manor.

What Others Are Saying:

“Truly amazing! We had my daughter’s Mitzvah at The Briarcliff Manor last week. The service was so attentive and professional. There was always someone there to ask questions or make requests, and they made suggestions themselves to keep going perfectly for us. The venue itself is beautiful, not to mention the views that are perfect for photos. The event planners and owners are incredible and made the entire planning process easy and not to mention enjoyable and their attention to our needs and details reassured me that my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah would be the day she dreamed of. Thank you to the team of The Briarcliff Manor for making this an unforgettable day for our family.”

"I recently had my daughter's Bat Mitzvah at The Briarcliff Manor and there isn’t one thing I would change about the experience. Everything was beautiful and more than I could have dreamed for my special day thanks to the wonderful staff, delicious food and not to mention the breathtaking manor both inside and out. The Manor itself is absolutely gorgeous and the views are breathtaking, almost out of a movie. Perry DiNapoli is such a pleasure to work as well as the rest of the staff and made planning easy. In conclusion, The Briarcliff Manor is perfect for any event, if I could give more stars I would."

"I was referred by a friend 3 months before my son's Mitzvah. I was having a hard time finding a place to have a small (95 person) Bar Mitzvah for my family and close friends. I met with Perry the owner and he put my mind at ease immediately. The Briarcliff Manor is pretty responsive to emails and are more than willing to work with a budget. I’m in the food industry, so the food was super important to me. My large Italian family left stuffed, were raving about the meal and some have even gone to the restaurant for dinner since. My picture proofs just got back and they came out gorgeous; The Hudson River View was incredible. The room was elegantly set by the in house decorating team. I’m a minimalist, so I kept it simple with just candles & some colored linens, but the samplers of floral arrangements were stunning. I was worried with such a short time frame I would have to break the bank. I was so happy when I was able to have a wonderful day and stay within my budget. Thank you Perry, Vincenza and the rest of the team at The Briarcliff Manor! Months later and I still have a silly grin on my face thinking about how great everything was.”

"The Briarcliff Manor recently reopened in the location that was formerly The Haymount House. Perry DiNapoli has renovated the location and is now open for dinner and special events. We recently had my daughters Bat Mitzvah there, 100 people, and they did a wonderful job with every aspect of the event. The food and ambiance were fantastic. Perry, Jamie and Vincenza made sure everything went just the way we wanted."
