We got the chance to talk with Michelle “Shell” Rummel of Shell Artistree to learn more about her beautiful invitation designs.

MM: Tell us about your business.
MR: Shell Artistree LLC is a woman-owned Fine Art Studio headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia featuring my award winning work. Since the business began in 2003, Shell Artistree has become a well known presence within the specialty Judaic art niche. My distinctive artwork has been featured in galleries, juried art shows, fine art exhibitions and trade shows in the Washington, D.C. area. MitzvahArtistree.com specializes in Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations, program covers, keepsake Mitzvah art and custom jewelry gifts featuring my beloved designs.

MM: How is your business unique?
MR: I created a collection of B’nai Mitzvah invitations several years ago after my own Mitzvah aged son expressed frustration at the limited and uninspiring choices available to him. I knew I could change that! I used my fine art background to create a unique, artistic collection of invitations and coordinating Mitzvah gift products.

Because I am an artist, the beauty of my work is that many elements of my designs can be customized. If you have a special vision for your child’s invitation, just ask and we will do our best to make that a reality for you!

My artistic style is contemporary, colorful, symbolic and most importantly, my designs appeal to the kids. I want them to be proud of and really love their invites! We launched the collection last year to rave reviews and have been amazed and inspired by the response ever since!

MM: What can people expect when they hire you?
MR: Knowledgeable, experienced, professional and friendly staff offering superior customer service to our clientele. My studio team and I strive to make the invitation ordering process as streamlined as possible for our clients. We are Moms too and we have been through the process ourselves with our own children…we are here to help!
