Recently Ultimate GaGa in Syosset, NY held an Open House. Their space was “dressed-up” for a Wedding that was taking place that evening. Mitzvah Market visited the space and thought the transformation was amazing. Sherri and Lou Candel took some time during their busy open house to answer some questions about their space and how it works for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration.

MM: Describe your space?
SC: Ultimate GaGa is over 20,000 square feet of flexible finished warehouse space. Our rectangular shape, high ceilings and overhead beams make it a decorator’s dream in terms of what can be done to customize a party to their client’s own taste.

MM: What makes your space unique?
SC: I think what makes us unique is our flexibility and our ability to transform ourselves into any type of party. If you want a sports Bar or Bat Mitzvah, that’s our specialty. If you want the club/lounge with dance floor type of Bar or Bat  Mitzvah, we can do that too. If you want a combo of the two, we can make it happen. Our space is conducive to any of these types of parties. We have excellent parking. We’re very centrally-located to all major highways. And we can accommodate an intimate party or a very large one.

MM: What can people expect when booking their child’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah at Ultimate GaGa?
SC: People can expect a venue that will work hard to ensure that your Mitzvah experience is one to remember. Our owners have children all around Bar/Bat Mitzvah age so we’re keenly aware of what people want out of their special day. Whether it’s a formal sit-down dinner or a more casual kids party, we’ll do our best to meet your every need.

MM: What has been the reaction to your space as a new venue for Bar or Bat Mitzvah’s?
SC: The response to our place has been overwhelming. People who attended our Open House last weekend were blown away by Club GaGa and have already started booking dates. Many of them have been here before for our sports birthday parties or Open Play sessions and could not believe they were in the same space! The lighting, lounge furniture and decor gave off a cool NYC nightclub vibe that seemed to excite everyone who came through the door.

MM: People get nervous when booking raw space, please describe the process and let everyone know how much work/or little work is involved on behalf of the Mitzvah family.
SC: When booking a raw space like ours, people want to have someone who can gently guide them. So to accomplish this, we’ve partnered up with some of the true leaders in the industry from caterers to florists to DJ companies to furniture companies, who can point them in the right direction no matter what their budget. We also have a few in-house party coordinators who can work with the client and our preferred Vendors to map out their event. We can give them as much or as little help as they want. The benefit to building your party this way is that it allows the personality of the celebrant and their family to really shine through. They can put their own personal fingerprints on the planning and decor, which always makes for a more enjoyable affair!
