This is the third spotlight for the Lustberg family!
Sister Sydney celebrated in 2009 and we also spotlighted Dad’s celebration from 1979. Now it’s daughter Samantha’s turn.
She celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in January 2012 at Temple Or Elohim in Jericho, New York. After her havdalah service, guests moved into the ballroom for her celebration.
With slight snow flurries during the day, their touches of winter wonderland was a perfect theme! We thank them for sharing this party with our readers.

Jack Katz was the photographer and the rest of the vendor information is listed at the bottom of this spotlight.

Ellen Futterman from Proper Notice created their unique invitation in soft blue hues.

Each handmade paper invitation featured a pinwheel opening which was letter pressed and foiled by hand

Sammy couldn’t decide if she wanted to wear a short dress or a long gown, so she wore two Bat Mitzvah dresses! Both were from It’s Simply For You.

The short white dress was worn during her service and cocktail hour and then she surprised her guests when she made her grand entrance in the long gown

Verbena Designs created their decor including the set-up of the place cards below.

Mom found the votives at Michaels and had her calligrapher do the rest!

The ballroom at Temple Or Elohim is ready for guests to arrive.

Jennifer McKeon from Verbena Designs used white tree branches, tall vases with floating flowers and lots of candles to create a dramatic look

Blow up posters of Sammy were displayed around the room

Coco Event Design provided fun for the young guests including Pop A Shot and iSkins.

Sammy’s sign-in book was created by Simon Elliot Events using photos from a photo session with Jack Katz.

Sweatshirts for Sammy’s friends were created by MazelTovGear.com.

The girls received a pink zip up with the saying, Free Hugs and the date of her Bat Mitzvah

The boys version was a black hooded sweatshirt

Mitzvah planning advice from Mom Tama:
“Enjoy the planning every step of the way and keep it all in perspective, I promise, it will all get done even if you save it all for the last 2 months!”

For her Mitzvah Project, Samantha signed up for a Peer Mentoring program at AHRC as a long term commitment to helping children with autism.
