Neon Color Inspired Bat Mitzvah | MitzvahMarket

The Citron Bat Mitzvah Family Spotlight

The Citron Bat Mitzvah Family Spotlight

In April, 2011 Chloe Citron led her service at Temple Or Elohim in Jericho, New York. The family then celebrated her Bat Mitzvah with an evening party at Temple Judea of Manhasset, New York.

Chloe fell in love with a neon invitation and those colors became her bright theme!

Scott from Art Photography provided all the photography and the rest of the vendors are listed at the bottom of this spotlight.

After Chloe’s service at Temple Or Elohim, the Citrons had a “kiddush to go” from Bagel Boss for their guests.

Helene Dorfman of R.S.V.P. created Chloe’s colorful invitation. Once Chloe saw those colors, that was it!

Stamp - Mitzvah Decor

Bat Mitzvah girl Chloe loved the neon colors of her invitation so much that with the help of Dazzling Parties, they decorated the room at Temple Judea with neon.  Mom Jill wanted it to be classy, elegant and not too loud. Barbara Becker did a great job of making both Mom Jill and Bat Mitzvah girl Chloe happy!

Here’s some Mom-to-Mom advice from Jill:
“I loved my vendors. I didn’t want to spend time shopping around and interviewing lots of different vendors. In addition to not wanting to waste my time, I didn’t want to develop a rapport with people and then have to tell them I wasn’t using them. So instead, I interviewed my friends to see what they liked and didn’t like about the vendors they used. I found most of my vendors based on recommendations from friends. I made the right decision in choosing each of the vendors I used.”

Stamp - Mitzvah Project Idea

Chloe loves to read and she wanted to share her love of reading with those who are less fortunate so she collected gently used books (children’s and adult’s) and donated them to Reading Reflections, a non-profit organization that collects and delivers books to community centers, libraries and schools in needy areas locally and around the world.

Citron Mitzvah Project

Reading Reflections recently teamed up with h2 Empower – an organization dedicated to improving lives in Africa through education. This organization is helping Reading Reflections bring books to rural villages in southern Ethiopia. Chloe asked people to drop off books at her house and at her Temple. The Citrons entire basement floor was covered with piles of books. They sorted the books by age and type and donated a couple of thousand books to the organization.
