Jodi Backalar is from Farmington Hills, Michigan and celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in September, 2010 at Temple Shir Shalom in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Jodi loves tennis, so this family had an easy time coming up with her theme! She celebrated with “Jodi’s Tennis Ball.”
We thank them for sharing all their creative ideas with Mitzvah Market.

Here’s some advice from Mitzvah Mom Julie:
“During the planning phase, you may not believe it, but it all comes together in the end.”
Jodi’s Mitzvah Project related to her theme of tennis. She collected used tennis balls and donated them to an assisted living center. They use them for physical therapy and for the bottom of walkers. Also, she collected and donated new cans of tennis balls and new and gently used tennis racquets that were used in the centerpieces. After the party, the centerpieces were taken apart and donated to an inner city tennis program.
