A ‘Camp Josh’ Bar Mitzvah Weekend

A ‘Camp Josh’ Bar Mitzvah Weekend

The Francombe family from Atlanta, Georgia, celebrated their son Joshua’s Bar Mitzvah during a fun-filled weekend, Friday, April 17 – Sunday, April 19, 2015. The festivities were held at one of his favorite places, Camp Ramah Darom in the North Georgia Mountains.

Thanks to Mom Stacie, a nationally-renown wedding expert, no detail was overlooked making it a memorable weekend for family and friends who came from Wales, Great Britain, Utah, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Florida, Las Vegas, Delaware, Tennessee and North Carolina to celebrate and attend Camp Josh!

Mitzvah Invitation & Save the Date

Guests got into the camp spirit as soon as they received their custom invitation. Mom Stacie had a hand in the design working with Sirmantha Celesta from Paper Parfait.

Bar Mitzvah Branding

There were many “happy campers” as family and friends arrived at the campgrounds. Below are just a few of the many branded goodies (in Josh’s favorite team: Ohio State red and grey) that guests received upon arrival.

Mitzvah Services

After enjoying activities and lunch, there was a Friday night service and Shabbat dinner to kick off the weekend. Saturday morning Josh had his Bar Mitzvah service overlooking the lake and campus. He was joined by his grandparents and maternal great grandparents, ages 95 and 91, along with cousins, aunts and uncles.

Mitzvah Style

The Francombe family looked great throughout the weekend with different outfits for the casual photo shoot, the service and the party.

Mitzvah Camp Activities

After Saturday services and Kiddush luncheon, campers took part in fun activities ending with a camp-wide Color War where guests were divided into Team Red and Team Grey.

 Party Decor

Mom Stacie incorporated special elements into the event decor and food, styling her son’s celebration.

Mitzvah Project

Josh’s grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease 5 years ago, so for his Mitzvah Project he decided to raise money for the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) for the annual walk. Josh was also honored at the Annual Walk and gave a speech about his Mitzvah Project in front of hundreds of walkers. Also, Josh was asked to be the guest of honor at the NPF annual dinner where he was awarded for his fundraising efforts.
