A Bar Mitzvah Celebration On Fire Island

A Bar Mitzvah Celebration On Fire Island

The Rallo family from Melville, New York, celebrated their son Max’s Bar Mitzvah on May 22, 2016, at the Fire Island Synagogue in Seaview, New York. Immediately following the service, guests walked a few minutes to Ocean Beach, (no cars on Fire Island), to Maguire’s Beach Front Restaurant for a fun, laid-back party with a Fire Island theme.

Temple Service/Party Venue/Invitation

There were some adult guests who arrived by water taxi for the service, and Max’s friends arrived by ferry for the celebration.

Bar Mitzvah Style

The Rallo family were dressed in their best beach chic outfits. Mom Lauren’s dress was from Runway Couture.

Place Cards/Food/Decor Details

Hi Tech Photography Events created the decor using Fire Island as the inspiration.

Party Logos/Giveaways

Robin Levy from Party Favors by Robin created two logos and helped design the bucket hats, baseball hats and t-shirt giveaways that were a big hit! Kids went home with sweatshirts with Max’s logo to keep them warm on the ferry.

 Music/Entertainment/Candle Lighting

MC Carl from ET Events was in charge of the fun on the dance floor. Boom Event Source supplied the casino tables.

Mitzvah Exit Treats

As the party ended the adults were handed a bag of Hampton Popcorn for the ferry ride home and the kids received a custom candy box with Max’s logo made by Midnite Snax.

Bar Mitzvah Montage

Max’s montage was created by their friend Marc Kravitz who has a video production company.

Mom Advice From Mom Lauren

“There have not been many Bar or Bat Mitzvah’s held on Fire Island, but we were lucky enough to find the Kaden Bat Mitzvah which took place in Ocean Bay Park and read about it on MitzvahMarket.com. It gave us so many ideas and made us realize that having a Bar Mitzvah in Fire Island was possible.”
