Dress Makeover

Mitzvah Moms shop and shop to find the perfect dress for their child’s special Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration. It might be short, long, very dressy or more casual, but you would like to wear it more than once!

We heard from Mitzvah Mom Tammy and wanted to share her story. We did a Mitzvah Family Spotlight on their daughter’s Bat Mitzvah when we first launched

Tammy wore a beautiful long gown from Tallulah in Woodbury, NY and wanted to be able to wear it again. As she says, “I absolutely loved the dress I wore to my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah celebration, but felt it was too dressy to wear as a “guest dress” to a friend’s party.” She adds, “After sitting in my closet for almost 3 years, I decided to give it a make-over!”

She loved her gown long but didn’t feel she would get use out of it again, so she went back to Tallulah for some suggestions. Their seamstress suggested cutting it down to tea length. See the results below:

“I think Tallulah did a fantastic job. I’ve already wore it twice and love that I’m able to wear it again and feel comfortable.”

If you have a dress sitting in your closet, think about taking it to a professional for a transformation!
